From the recording Measured By Age
Measured by Age
Measured by Age is one of the most personal songs I’ve written.
It’s about two people whose love was judged by numbers instead of by what they truly felt for each other. While others focused on age, they saw honesty, kindness, and a connection that couldn’t be explained. Sometimes the strongest relationships are the ones the world refuses to understand.
This song isn’t about proving anyone wrong—it’s about remembering a love that was real, even if it couldn’t survive the opinions and expectations of others. It’s about looking back on something beautiful, knowing that what mattered most was never measured by years.
Lyrics
She was too young to date They said I was too late
Separated by age Jealous people and their rage
But I tried to turn the page If I could make them see
What your love means to me You showed it so naturally
It was so obvious to me In your eyes, in your eyes
Feels like I'm in a dream A cold one without a heart
So close to having it all Then I watched it fall apart
And I would've stayed Until the end of time
Do it again just for you You knew it was all true
Our love couldn't be measured by age Or bought by any wage
If I could make them see What your love means to me
You showed it so naturally It was so obvious to me
In your eyes, in your eyes If I could make them see
What your love means to me You showed it so naturally
It was so obvious to me In your eyes, in your eyes
If I could make them see If I could make them see
If I could make them see What your love means to me
You showed it so naturally You showed it so naturally
It was so obvious to me It was so obvious to me
In your eyes, in your eyes Oh, in your eyes, in your eyes
